Car and Driver – one the foremost international automotive sources in the world – has put together an awesomely detailed Nissan Heritage Collection highlight gallery. From peeks at Nissan’s oddly-shaped 1947 Tama Electric Car (that’s right – an electric car from 1947) to the delightfully styled 1966 Nissan Bluebird rally car and beyond, the Heritage Collection highlight shows off bits and pieces of Nissan’s interesting and colorful history.
One of our favorite features is the beautiful 1967 Prince Gloria Super 6, one of the first products of Nissan’s merger with the Prince Motor Company in 1966. The Gloria Super 6 is a timelessly beautiful vehicle, which somehow still speaks of the same luxury and high-performance today that it was intended to nearly 50 years ago.
Another interesting – dare we say quirky – item on the list is the 1973 Nissan Skyline 2000GT-R. This strange but sleek muscle car would have been the perfect choice if The Dukes of Hazzard were set in rural Japan instead of deep down in Georgia.
There’s so much more Nissan history to discover in Car and Driver’s Heritage Collection highlight, for the Nissan lover and general automotive enthusiast alike.
